Spider Veins & Vascular Blemishes

Visible spider veins (Telangiectasia) on the face and legs are a common concern caused by dilated or broken blood vessels near the skin’s surface. These fine red, blue, or purple lines can be caused by sun exposure, genetics, or hormonal changes, and are often resistant to topical creams.

At Daisy Dermal Clinic, we do not just “cover” these blemishes; we erase them. Our approach is to create a clinical pathway that uses medical-grade laser technology to precisely target and collapse unwanted vessels, restoring a clear and uniform skin tone.

SPIDER VEINS & VASCULAR BLEMISHES

A Dermal Therapist-Led Protocol for a Clear, Even Complexion

Our treatment philosophy is based on diagnosis before prescription. To effectively treat vascular blemishes, we must first assess the vessel’s size, color, and depth. This is how we build your path to lasting vascular clarity.

Understanding Your Vascular Concerns

• Facial Telangiectasia: Fine “spider web” veins, commonly found around the nose and on the cheeks.

• Leg Spider Veins: Small red or blue superficial vessels on the thighs or ankles. (Note: We do not treat large, bulging Varicose Veins, which require a vascular surgeon).

• Cherry Angiomas: Small, bright red “dots” of blood vessels that can appear anywhere on the body.

THE DAISY CLINICAL PATHWAY

Your journey begins with a Bespoke Skin Consultation ($80 – redeemable). We will diagnose your condition and design your treatment plan. Our gold standard protocol includes:

1. To Erase Visible Veins:

Candela Nd:YAG Laser: Our premier treatment for vascular correction. The laser energy is precisely absorbed by the hemoglobin within the blood vessel, causing the vessel wall to instantly heat up and collapse. The body then naturally absorbs the “closed” vessel, making it disappear from view.

2. To Treat Background Redness:

Candela Laser Genesis: For clients with diffuse redness or Rosacea, this gentle protocol helps calm the underlying inflammation and strengthens the skin.

• Sylfirm X (Pulsed-Wave Mode): Advanced technology to repair the vascular network and reduce overall skin reactivity.

3. Prescribed Homecare (Circadia):

To strengthen capillary walls and prevent new vessels from forming, we will prescribe a targeted homecare regimen rich in Vitamin C and anti-inflammatory ingredients like Circadia’s Chrono-Calm.

Frequently Asked Questions

The laser emits a specific wavelength of light that safely bypasses the skin's surface and is highly attracted to the hemoglobin (blood) inside the visible vein. As the blood absorbs this energy, it heats up, causing the vessel wall to collapse and seal shut. Over the next few weeks, your body's lymphatic system naturally absorbs and clears the inactive vessel.

Often, yes! Small facial veins (around the nose) and Cherry Angiomas can instantly vanish or turn dark and shrink right before your eyes. However, slightly larger vessels, especially on the legs, may look darker or bruised initially before fading away over 4 to 8 weeks.

Clients typically describe the sensation as a quick, sharp "snap" of a rubber band against the skin, accompanied by a burst of heat. Because treating individual vessels is a very fast process, the discomfort is brief and highly tolerable.

The specific blood vessels we successfully treat and collapse are permanently destroyed and will not return. However, if you are genetically prone to developing spider veins or Rosacea, or if you have a lifestyle that triggers them (sun exposure, standing all day, alcohol), your body may form new vessels in the future.

Leg veins are subjected to high hydrostatic pressure due to gravity—your blood has to pump hard to get from your ankles back up to your heart. Because of this pressure, leg veins are more stubborn, require higher laser energy, and take significantly longer for the body to absorb and clear compared to delicate facial veins.

For Cherry Angiomas and small facial capillaries, 1 to 2 sessions are usually sufficient. For diffuse redness (Rosacea) treated with Sylfirm X or Laser Genesis, or for stubborn leg veins, a dedicated course of 3 to 4 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart is required for optimal clearance.

There is minimal physical downtime, and you can drive home immediately. The treated area may look red, slightly swollen (like a mosquito bite), or slightly bruised for a few days. The most important factor is your strict aftercare.

Because we use heat to seal the vessels shut, you must avoid anything that causes your blood vessels to dilate and "re-open" for at least 48 to 72 hours. This means strictly no hot showers, saunas, intense exercise, alcohol, or rubbing the treated area.

Absolutely not. The Candela laser targets pigment (the red in your blood). If you have active a tan or fake tan on your skin, the laser can be absorbed by the surface of your skin instead of the vein, which can cause severe burns or blisters. The treatment area must be your natural skin tone.
